For Folajinmi Awofeso, the road to graduation was about more than just a degree—it was about finding his frequency. An Audio Production major and Theater Arts minor in the Cathy Hughes School of Communications, Folajinmi spent his first year at Howard as a commuter, feeling like he was "caught in the static" of the I-95.
Everything changed when he stepped off the sidelines and joined the ensemble. Through acting and music, he found a community that shared his drive and a platform to become "Folabeats." From student productions to winning the Washington Wizards "Battle of the DJs," Folajinmi has spent his time at Howard representing the university on a national scale and setting the tone for thousands.
As he prepares to enter the industry as an audio engineer and producer, Folajinmi leaves The Yard with a clear vision and a family that stretches from Maryland to Nigeria.
