When you set aside the questions about if this is a real Final Fantasy game, forget about all the difficulty debates, and ignore all the Playstation fanboys hyping this hoisting this game up to masterpiece levels to push a console dominance narrative, you come to realize, Final Fantasy 16 is just a good, above average game. It does one thing, really, really well; and that would be the epic kaiju like fights. Everything else is a bit of a mixed bag, some good, some bad, leading to a lot of inconsistency. It's a game with high highs and low lows. Check out my full critique.
