Oops, here comes more Final Fantasy...
Haven't done anything from Final Fantasy XV in a while (ever since my Apocalypsis Noctis cover), but I've always been a fan of the music direction of this game. After familiarizing myself with the game a bit more a while back, I thought that this melancholic theme would be great to play for you guys!
Also coincidentally, I happened to watch the FFXV livestream that happened two days ago. If you didn't hear, they cancelled like 3 out of 4 crucial story DLCs and gave us stickers instead :/ So while the life of this game may be coming to an end, I appreciate this game for starting to get out Square Enix out of the hole of Final Fantasy Hallway Simulators and pushing the series a few steps in the right direction for future titles. So with that, hope you enjoy this cover of Somnus from the Final Fantasy XV Piano Collections.

Its Zelda! Its Runescape! No, its... some RPG from before 2000?! Yes sir, off of the usually Zelda/Nintendo piano cover track, heres a PC game cover from a game that came out before many of you (including myself) were even born o_0 and from a franchise that revolutionized the entire RPG genre.
Funny story, this song was actually partly a request of my Physics teacher XD One day he saw some of my piano covers in class and thought they were pretty good (even to a classically trained listener like himself), and so I asked him if he had any video game piano requests. And so, he requested Anything from Heroes of Might and Magic 2, for which I did some research and eventually chose to transcribe and arrange this piece. Hopefully Ill get some bonus points on my exam :P

Technically, this is a mashup of Aparoid Queen Battle Part 1 and Parts 2&3, but on their own those two pieces are pretty short, so I decided to tie them together to make one epic medley of the coolest Star Fox: Assault boss themes for the final boss in the game! The Star Fox: Assault OST is sooooo underrated, and as far as I know these songs have never been covered before, so I decided to try to do it some piano justice :D
I also decided to squeeze out this last minute cover in order to submit it for the newest Pixel Mixers contest (https://www.reddit.com/r/VGCovers/) based on all things sci-fi VGM! Gotta rep some Stair Fax love 😂

Anyway, after I managed to pull off One-Winged Angel last year, I thought I would be able to handle another challenging FF7 Piano Collection piece, so I decided to choose this iconic battle theme. It was definitely an interesting learn and a very fun piece to put together, and I hope you enjoy my take on it along with the Synthesia effects too!

Another video within a week for the third time in a row? Nani??
When I heard that the Nether Update for Minecraft released just this week and that Lena Raine the tracks for it, I had to go and check out the new tunes! The Nether has some of my favorite tunes in Minecraft and Lena Raine is one of my favorite composers, and somehow the two blended together perfect! Lena definitely brought her A-game to make some music that was uniquely her own while meshing perfectly with the vibe of the Nether. This tune in particular sounded like a chilling combination of Ballad of the Cats from Minecraft mixed with Resurrections from Celeste, and since those are two of my favorite tracks in each game of course I had to cover this one!
I decided to be a little experimental with this cover in order to try to capture the mood of the original track. So I added little automation on the reverb and a bit of warbly piano effects in order to sound closer to the source material and bring out that intimate yet forlorn mood that I love the Nether for. Hopefully you guys will enjoy it!
This may be the last weekly cover for a while though, since I got a few big projects to tackle before summer ends. Top 10 Zelda Songs medley is in the works and I got a few other ideas for interesting covers...

Happy Halloween! 💀🎃👻
While I have been doing other Halloween covers up until this point, I wanted to spook your senses with something completely new and radical for this special day, and what better spooky videogame tune to do then the Bowsers Castle theme from the best Mario Kart game to date, Mario Kart Wii (oops, forgot to give a Hot Take alert). Both playing the game casually and seriously (as Ive been getting into doing some time trials-ing recently), this track throughs so many twists and turns at you as it spooks you with its ominous atmosphere.
In order to fully do it justice, I knew I had to get in a bit more than just a normal piano cover, so luckily fellow Mario Kart Wii OST enthusiast and overall musical genius Mohmega was willing to throw in some of his talents into the mix to create this totally epic remix to rival the Mario Kart 8 Bowsers Castle theme 😂 I cant get over how awesome that guitar sounds, so make sure to go and check out Mohmega and give him some love!
Anyway, I hope yall enjoy this gnarly cover, and make sure to go and get plenty of candy (if you have any Skittles or Krackel bars you dont want, Ill happily take them :^] )

Final Fantasy IX just released on the Nintendo Switch two days ago (as you probably saw from the surprise Nintendo Direct), and coincidentally I had this cover of the famous song Melodies of Life from Final Fantasy 9 ready to post, so I guess todays the day to do it!
Ever since I first heard this song in Ben Briggs amazing remix of Over the Hill, Ive fallen in love with it and the Final Fantasy IX soundtrack in general. The Distant Worlds concert series also has some great arrangements from this game, and Melodies of Life is one of my favorite Distant Worlds songs that theyve ever covered. Finally, the Piano Collections version of this song was too good to pass up, so I decided to take a crack at it and its lovely melody and intricate, flowing harmonies (maybe Ill get to the Piano Opera version one day o_0).
So whether youre an FFIX veteran or just getting into it now on Switch, I hope you enjoy this piano cover of Melodies of Life from the FF9 Piano Collections as much as I have!
