While I have been doing other Halloween covers up until this point, I wanted to spook your senses with something completely new and radical for this special day, and what better spooky videogame tune to do then the Bowser's Castle theme from the best Mario Kart game to date, Mario Kart Wii (oops, forgot to give a Hot Take alert). Both playing the game casually and seriously (as I've been getting into doing some time trials-ing recently), this track throughs so many twists and turns at you as it spooks you with its ominous atmosphere.
In order to fully do it justice, I knew I had to get in a bit more than just a normal piano cover, so luckily fellow Mario Kart Wii OST enthusiast and overall musical genius Mohmega was willing to throw in some of his talents into the mix to create this totally epic remix to rival the Mario Kart 8 Bowser's Castle theme 😂 I can't get over how awesome that guitar sounds, so make sure to go and check out Mohmega and give him some love!
Anyway, I hope y'all enjoy this gnarly cover, and make sure to go and get plenty of candy (if you have any Skittles or Krackel bars you don't want, I'll happily take them :^] )

Final Fantasy IX just released on the Nintendo Switch two days ago (as you probably saw from the surprise Nintendo Direct), and coincidentally I had this cover of the famous song Melodies of Life from Final Fantasy 9 ready to post, so I guess todays the day to do it!
Ever since I first heard this song in Ben Briggs amazing remix of Over the Hill, Ive fallen in love with it and the Final Fantasy IX soundtrack in general. The Distant Worlds concert series also has some great arrangements from this game, and Melodies of Life is one of my favorite Distant Worlds songs that theyve ever covered. Finally, the Piano Collections version of this song was too good to pass up, so I decided to take a crack at it and its lovely melody and intricate, flowing harmonies (maybe Ill get to the Piano Opera version one day o_0).
So whether youre an FFIX veteran or just getting into it now on Switch, I hope you enjoy this piano cover of Melodies of Life from the FF9 Piano Collections as much as I have!

This social distancing is getting crazy, lets rock! While I was slowly turning into a Capcom fanboy right before all this nonsense hit, I was super hyped to finally try out Devil May Cry for the first time with the release of Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition on the Switch. Its definitely been kicking me around with its difficulty, but getting into the combat, action, and cutscenes has been a spectacle.
I love both the head-banging metal tunes and the somber Gothic melodies that intertwine flawlessly. This tune combines a little of the main theme of the game, Devils Never Cry, while adding its own melancholic twist. Hope you enjoy this tune as much as I do!

Finally not Christmas music anymore :P
Heres a pretty special arrangement for multiple reasons. First of all, this is my first ever solo piano arrangement featured on a Materia Collective album! Materia Collective is one of the largest video game record labels/licensers/copyright specialists out there, so I was thrilled for the chance to hop onboard this community album that they planned called MENU. This album is dedicated to the start themes and select themes of tons of video games (from Super Mario 64 to Final Fantasy XIII-2 and everything in between).
For the album, I recorded a very special arrangement of the nostalgic menu theme from Star Fox 64 (even though Ive played this track like twice already on this channel :P), extending and developing it a bit into a concert paraphrase or piano collections version of the song in order to capture the bittersweet memories attached with this game and this music.
So I hope you enjoy my third take on the Select Theme, and make sure to go check out the full album! 2019 is kicking off in full swing!

Todays the daaaaaaaaay! Smash Ultimate finally released for all of us Americans! After months of speculation, drama, and hype, Super Smash Brothers Ultimate for the Nintendo Switch has been graced from daddy Sakurai above into our mortal hands! And man, does it come with a lot of great original music!
In order to best pay tribute to this great day in video game history, I decided to make a great big deal out of the Galeem boss battle music from the World of Light mode! *Whaaat? Howd you learn this music before the game even came out?!* you may ask? Shhhhh... 😎 First of all, I put a bit more production quality into the vid to make it look pretty 🌈 Also, theres SHEET MUSIC available from the great guys at Musicnotes along with a SYNTHESIA TUTORIAL from the awesome Mariovehrer (check links below)! Finally, not only am I playing this song, but Ive organized a PIANO DUEL with the great Youtube pianist ERIK C. PIANO MAN so that we can once again face off in the most epic Smash battle mode in history: 1v1, Final Destination, no items, piano only! Go check his arrangement out and vote for the performance that takes the last stock!
Anyways, I hope you enjoy this arrangement as much as you enjoy Smash Bros and Ultimate (if you have the game already). Ive been putting a lot of effort in every single one of my piano covers this year and man has this one been quite a ride to work on! Like literally I dont think theres been a single cover since my Smash Bros Brawl Main Theme cover where I havent put in days or weeks or months of work into them, absolutely 0 BS-ing involved :P While vids may slow down a bit in quality over the break (since I gotta get a bunch of vids down before I go home), hopefully this level of quality will stay for my 2019 videos!

TAKE THAT!
Once again back to the VGM classics! For this months Pixel Mixers contest the theme was visual novels, so I thought what better OST to cover than the OG Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. This selection includes Trial Begins, Cross Examination ~ Moderato 2001, Objection, and Pursuit ~ Cornered in both normal piano cover and piano duet format.
Back in freshman year of college, one of the ways I bonded with new friends was by getting together and voice-acting through Ace Attorney along with appreciating all the memes along the way (itd be a shame if I... UPDATED THE AUTOPSY REPORT). I wanted to pay tribute to the good times this game has given me by making a medley that captures both its drama (with some musical elements I took from the Ace Attorney 15th Anniversary Orchestra album) and its cheery good fun, and I hope you can catch those vibes too from the cover.
