We get our revenge against Geosgaeno so that we may acquire Anima.
Before you enter this battle make sure to equip everyone with stone ward or proof armor, cause he'll use Stonetouch to take your character out of the battle. It would also be nice if you could manage to have Deathward or Deathproof as well, since he also uses death attacks (which does not take you out of the battle.) He also uses a move where he swallows one of the characters in and then spits them out for massive damage, the only way to counteract this is by using the trigger command "struggle". I recommend finishing this battle as quickly as possible, since his HP isn't too high. Rikku's overdrive can be very useful here, as well as items such as Lightning Gem.
Oh, and you might want to consider fighting him again if he doesn't drop a weapon with the no encounters ability.
Afterwards we go and acquire the extremely awesome aeon, Anima.
