More about the piece:
Hey everybody! Thanks again for tuning in again! This weeks video is a big one. I've been wanting to cover "Fisherman's Horizon" from Final Fantasy VIII ever since I started this channel, and Soundole's chillout competition was the perfect opportunity to do just that.
While Final Fantasy 6,7 and 9 are my all time favorites, I have a huge soft spot for Final Fantasy 8 and I think the musical score is one of the best in the series. The soundtrack has such a wide range of musical styles and has some of the most memorable melodies in the FF legacy.
This video marks a fairly big departure for the channel. My playing takes a backseat in this arrangement. My wife Katie takes front and center with her flute performance in this and I can't thank her enough for taking the time to record this part. It's always wonderful to perform with her and I couldn't have done this without her. I also ended up playing Melodica in this video, which was a great learning experience. If people enjoy this performance, I will definitely do more like it in the future.
This is also my first video edited in DaVinci Resolve. It's a fantastic piece of software and I've learned so much editing this video with Resolve. I ended up utilizing a lot of nature footage in this video and the color correction tools in Resolve made the whole editing experience so smooth. I'll be using Resolve for all my videos going forward.
Hope you guys enjoyed this video. Feel free to leave a comment or share if you feel so inclined.
Thanks again for watching!
Cheers!
