Hey all, I'm working on some bigger VGM videos that I'm not sure I'll finish in time before my vacation, but I also wanted to share something original I've been working on this week. During a late night this week, I recorded this little improv with my Arturia Drumbrute Impact and one of my Wurlitzer patches. I wrote up this very fun little chord progression and felt like it would be fun to expand on and make something very smooth and groovy with it. After programming a very simple beat into the drum machine, I recorded a couple of little takes and that is basically what you see here.
This was a blast to improvise and I honestly really like how it turned out. Learning this drum machine has really opened up a lot of different stylistic avenues that I wouldn't have been able to do beforehand. The drum pattern I used here is super basic but just being able to live program a simple beat and improvise on another instrument has inspired me to try something different.
It's always fun for me to play in this style and I definitely want to experiment more with it next year. I'm also planning on releasing more original music next year on this channel, in addition to the VGM arrangements. I'm hoping to possibly alternate arrangements and original releases next year, so I hope you all will look forward to that.
