This battle is available on hard mode only. I know there's more optimal ways to finish this battle, but this method shows that you can still brute force your way through.
It's worth noting, I forgot to equip the Barrier materia. You may wish to use this in place of Carbuncle, since not everyone has access to the DLC summon & things like Manawall are much better to use in defense against things like Bahamut's Mega Flare.
My method here was being impatient and trying to push for a stagger as fast as possible.
