This is a battle against the Summon Bahamut, on NORMAL MODEL, with a team that has completed the game on all difficulties, which is why it will seem easy.
The general strategy is the same of course, it will just take much longer without the proper weapons, materia & limit breaks.
TIPS:
- Bahamut hits hard and has no weaknesses to exploit.
- You can use Elemental+Fire on your armour to deal with his "fire breath" attack, but it won't save you from anything else.
- I recommend Cloud, Tifa & Aerith in this battle, as with most others.
- If he grabs you, quickly switch to another character and unleash as many potent attacks as you can. If you're successful, he will drop/let them go. If not, he will slam them into the ground.
- His Umbral attacks are hard to avoid, so it's best to block them and heal - don't do this in Punisher mode if you're Cloud, since he can't counter it.
It's a good idea to cast barrier, or even haste on your party if you have it.
- Once he starts counting down, you need to stagger him, which can be very difficult/unlike, so hit him with your best attempts to pressure. If he gets to the One count, heal everyone and use your Barrier materia to cast manawall on as many characters as possible.
- If he counts all the way down, he will cast Mega Flare. This will no doubt kill you. Unless you have manawall up. Heal/resurrect and continue. If you get any limit breaks, don't use them. If you have the Carbuncle summon (as I do) then that's a great alternative to Barrier/Manawall while you fight.
- As soon as he's staggered, use Tifa's Triangle attacks to increase the stagger percentage while smashing him with your limit breaks and/or most powerful attacks. You may need to do this more than once.
