One-Winged Angel has always intimidated me, and I’m so happy to finally be bringing you an arrangement of it to you guys today! I haven’t actually played FFVII, let alone the Sephiroth fight, so I’ve only experienced the battle through listening to the music. I’ve gotta say, this is one of the longest looping video game tracks out there. The intro is pretty long for a track that loops, and the section that loops is about 3 minutes long - that’s ridiculous! Nobuo Uematsu knocked this song out of the park, and really stretched the definition of video game music at the time.

You’ve also probably noticed the cool video style! I wanted to do something special for a Halloween-themed video, so I decided to incorporate some gels and light from below for that classic spooky campfire story look. I took my New Wave Bossa Nova video to my Patrons over on Patreon, and got some wonderful feedback on the video style (along with some of the stuff you guys wrote in the comments). and applied that to this video! Super psyched about how this turned out - hope you guys enjoyed it.

One last thing - I’m playing flute in this video! This semester, I’ve been learning Flute at school (I’m using this semester of private lessons as a way to develop my skills on flute), and I wanted to incorporate it in a video. It is SO MUCH HARDER than I thought it would be, especially intonation! I’ve been practicing it quite a bit, though, so I think you’ll be seeing it in future videos, with hopefully better tone quality and technique! I’m pretty happy with what I was able to do with it in this video, so yay for expansion of musical texture!
