Those two chests have Ribbons, which you can potentially (though not plausibly) have five of already by farming Bog Witches in the Sylph Cave.

![Final Fantasy VI [PC] - Dullahan
A malevolent fairy from Irish folklore, often depicted headless and riding a black horse. Can be warded against with gold. Its quite popular in Japanese pop culture…I dont know why. Final Fantasy VI [PC] - Dullahan](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/HzoqgfFUfRk/mqdefault.jpg)
![Final Fantasy VI [PC] - Omega Weapon
Three lives (65,000 HP each), and unlike Kaiser, you have to whittle them all down.
This is the only battle where I used Quick for offensive purposes, since the constant counters would drag it out otherwise. Suboptimal YET AGAIN, but RNG gambling in this fight especially is REALLY annoying, so…Ill take whats given. Final Fantasy VI [PC] - Omega Weapon](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/ITdkJEboexE/mqdefault.jpg)

Square why are you so obsessed with electric guitars
(Dont ask about the rushed text, go watch some other video if youre interested in that; Im including the pre- and post-battle scenes for the sake of smooth[er] transitioning.) Final Fantasy IV Pixel Remaster - Mist Dragon](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/Ik-oD3Rfnr0/mqdefault.jpg)

![Final Fantasy V [PC] (LLG 2/1/1/4) - Exdeath #1
At battle speed 3, each tick is about 3/4ths of a second. This strat doesnt work on most bosses anyway because theyre initially odd-leveled (and so unaffected by Level 2 Old), though some are affected by the longer Dark Spark - L2 Old - L5 Death combo. (Supposedly L2 Old no longer ignores immunity in PR.)
Get Doom here, you need it for the next dungeon. (Well, _technically_ you dont, but the movement precision required to dodge the enemies in question is beyond most peoples capabilities and/or patience, and no, you cant catch them.) You have another chance to get it if you miss it here, but its easier to just grab it now.
In earlier story drafts, Exdeath was Ghidos traitorous apprentice, a lesser tree spirit who let his ambition and lust for power consume him (Ghido was a Great Deku Tree-esque spirit in this earlier version as well, but the final game changed him into a turtle, which is associated with wisdom and longevity in various cultures). ![Final Fantasy VI [PC] - Orthros #3
Or-chan doesnt like mirrors! But were you really surprised by that? Final Fantasy VI [PC] - Orthros #3](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/J9yIu5Xj5ig/mqdefault.jpg)
![Final Fantasy V [PC] (LLG 2/1/1/4) - Gargoyles
You need to fight three more of these formations in the stone tablet dungeons, and theyre all the same. Beat up Exdeaths Souls (they dont give EXP) in the Sealed Castle of Kuza for guaranteed Dark Matter drops; it always appears alone and always uses single-target attacks, so just equip some Hermes Sandals (buy from the Phantom Village) and chip away as needed (especially with the Sages Staff).
A true gargoyle has the purpose of draining rainwater away from the building, to prevent erosion; when built for ornamental purposes, its properly called a grotesque. Final Fantasy V [PC] (LLG 2/1/1/4) - Gargoyles](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/JApkMXbdITY/mqdefault.jpg)
![Final Fantasy VI [PC] - Ifrit & Shiva
I do not like blue eggs and flan
Also, pointless mini-rant, but magicite is pronounced with a hard sound (kite), not soft (site). Like malachite (which it resembles). Final Fantasy VI [PC] - Ifrit & Shiva](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/JOlD8SCBZtk/mqdefault.jpg)

![Final Fantasy VI [PC] - Valigarmander
Vali- - Vritra, a Hindu ice-serpent
-gar- - the divine bird Garuda
-mander - the mythical fire salamander (as opposed to real ones, most of which associate with water at some point in their lives)
Also, this guy is the ONLY source for Blizzaga and Thundaga, so naturally it has to be at the slowest possible rate… Final Fantasy VI [PC] - Valigarmander](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/JcVrDKjrzDk/mqdefault.jpg)
