At battle speed 3, each tick is about 3/4ths of a second. This strat doesn't work on most bosses anyway because they're initially odd-leveled (and so unaffected by Level 2 Old), though some are affected by the longer Dark Spark - L2 Old - L5 Death combo. (Supposedly L2 Old no longer ignores immunity in PR.)
Get Doom here, you need it for the next dungeon. (Well, _technically_ you don't, but the movement precision required to dodge the enemies in question is beyond most people's capabilities and/or patience, and no, you can't catch them.) You have another chance to get it if you miss it here, but it's easier to just grab it now.
In earlier story drafts, Exdeath was Ghido's traitorous apprentice, a lesser tree spirit who let his ambition and lust for power consume him (Ghido was a Great Deku Tree-esque spirit in this earlier version as well, but the final game changed him into a turtle, which is associated with wisdom and longevity in various cultures).

You need to fight three more of these formations in the stone tablet dungeons, and theyre all the same. Beat up Exdeaths Souls (they dont give EXP) in the Sealed Castle of Kuza for guaranteed Dark Matter drops; it always appears alone and always uses single-target attacks, so just equip some Hermes Sandals (buy from the Phantom Village) and chip away as needed (especially with the Sages Staff).
A true gargoyle has the purpose of draining rainwater away from the building, to prevent erosion; when built for ornamental purposes, its properly called a grotesque. Final Fantasy V [PC] (LLG 2/1/1/4) - Gargoyles](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/JApkMXbdITY/mqdefault.jpg)

I do not like blue eggs and flan
Also, pointless mini-rant, but magicite is pronounced with a hard sound (kite), not soft (site). Like malachite (which it resembles). Final Fantasy VI [PC] - Ifrit & Shiva](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/JOlD8SCBZtk/mqdefault.jpg)

![Final Fantasy VI [PC] - Valigarmander
Vali- - Vritra, a Hindu ice-serpent
-gar- - the divine bird Garuda
-mander - the mythical fire salamander (as opposed to real ones, most of which associate with water at some point in their lives)
Also, this guy is the ONLY source for Blizzaga and Thundaga, so naturally it has to be at the slowest possible rate… Final Fantasy VI [PC] - Valigarmander](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/JcVrDKjrzDk/mqdefault.jpg)

Why would a samurai have an attack called ASSASSIN Blade? (Then again, Kingdom Hearts has those two character types as close friends, so eh.) Final Fantasy VI [PC] - Samurai Soul](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/L3tIPpNMuaM/mqdefault.jpg)

Meanwhile the guys in armour just stand there for 40 seconds wondering if their enemies have lost their marbles like ???
(And these guys are kinda-sorta random encounters later on, so I dont know why Im even doing this.) Final Fantasy VI [PC] - Magitek Armour](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/LTHiklERV1M/mqdefault.jpg)
