Part of my first playthrough of Final Fantasy XV, played on the PS4 version of the game.
During this phase of the fight you can't hurt Ifrit when he's on fire. When he attacks he's not on fire. You can warp-strike through his attacks to hit him when he's open && counter the big hits for more damage.
