Dan's family has spent decades investigating the legendary search for Montezuma's lost Aztec treasure, and his case rests on more than folklore. A documented Uto-Aztecan linguistic connection runs from the Ute, Paiute, and Shoshone in Utah down through Mexico, all speaking variants of Nahuatl. Archaeological chocolate residue confirmed in Utah pottery ties directly to Mexican trade routes. Petroglyphs across the region document a 26,000-year precessional cycle matching the Aztec Sun Stone. And the oral history naming Montezuma's Castle predates any settler account, something Dan argues should be taken as historical evidence rather than dismissed as myth. He extends this to the Aztecs' 250-year migration from Aztlan, arguing the sophisticated engineering, mathematics, and agriculture they arrived with in central Mexico could only have survived that journey through a rigorous generational system of priestly oral transmission.

$Kailasa Temple Was Carved Out of One Solid Hill Praveen Mohan has spent over a decade documenting ancient Indian and Sri Lankan sites that receive a fraction of the attention given to Egypt or South America, and Matt Barone sits down with him to go through five of the most striking. Kailasa Temple was carved by removing material from a solid hill rather than building upward, a construction method Praveen calls unheard of anywhere else. His original 2012-2013 research, which went viral and led to multiple Ancient Aliens appearances, documented Wikipedias original figure of 800,000 tons of rock removed, later quietly revised down to 400,000 after the attention arrived. Even at that lower figure, enough material was removed to build something on the scale of a Giza pyramid, and no trace of the excavated rock has ever been located. Ancient Indian texts describe a tool called the Bhargavastra, capable of vaporising material including rock, and Praveen wonders whether something equivalent explains where the debris went. One mistake during the chisel-and-hammer carving process, and the builders would have had to abandon the hill entirely and start over on another. The Barabar Caves, in the state of Bihar, predate the Christian era by more than 2,000 years and carry a name meaning almost perfect in Hindi, given by locals rather than an original designation. The interior walls are polished to a genuine mirror finish, a level of surface precision granite specialists say would require massive modern machinery to reproduce today. Unlike the nearby Kailasa Temple dedicated to Shiva or the Ajanta Caves dedicated to Buddha, the Barabar Caves contain no carvings and no statues at all, an absence that suggests they were built for a purpose other than worship, one Praveen says remains genuinely unexplained. Certain spots inside produce a thunderclap-like acoustic reverberation from a single clap. Sigiriya in Sri Lanka, known as Lion Rock, originally had no staircase to its summit, where a pyramidal palace structure with a permanent water tank sits atop what Praveen describes as feeling like an ancient landing pad. The site is traditionally identified as the palace of Ravana, the demon king from the Ramayana who is said to have possessed a flying craft called the Pushpaka Vimana, and the neighbouring peak, now nicknamed Alien Mountain due to reported UFO activity, sits close enough that early observers could see the summit structures without climbing Sigiriya itself. The Hoysala temple, dated to roughly 900 years old even by conservative mainstream accounts, features pillars nine feet tall and over ten tons that show visible circular machining marks consistent with lathe technology, a rare case where archaeologists have formally accepted that rotational tooling was involved, without explaining how it was achieved. Praveens theory extends further: no two pillars are identical, and his hypothesis is that each one represents the three-dimensional visual form of a specific sound frequency or mantra, a code we do not yet have the technology to reverse-engineer, but one he believes may eventually be understood as encoding a genuine path toward spiritual awakening.
