This was the first scan I have done fully on the DIY film scanner. It came out pretty well for a first attempt bar a few small things.
- The sprocket registration gets bad towards the end - This is done in post processing and could be fixed later.
- The focus is a little soft towards the end, I believe this is the actual mechanical movement of the scanner causing the camera stand to drift slightly. I also scanned the film in reverse and digitally corrected later which may have caused some focus issues.
- The image is tilted slightly, this could be fixed at the scan stage or in post.

I uploaded this once before in the very early days of using my scanner. This copy was in a spool of random stuff I scanned today so I thought I would try processing it again uncropped. Makes a good comparison so see how Ive improved.
This must have been fairly early as it still has the cyan transitional soundtrack. Missing a couple of frames of fade out at the end but the audio track is all there.")

In light of reaching 2000-ish subscribers I thought I would dip back into the archives and reupload an overscanned version of a classic I originally uploaded in March 2021.
This was made using the original frame captures from that time when I was still getting to grips with the scanner so I have done my best to improve the image quality and it has also been restabilised using my current methodology which delivers vastly superior results. Id still like to recapture this and other short pieces I have at some point.
Thanks to everyone who has subscribed, this channel doesnt really have a plan or theme I just upload things that I like and it seems like a lot of other people enjoy seeing them too, so thanks!")

Lasered Norwegian subtitles.
This one is a bit bouncy, 1994 was still in the era of acetate and I think it might be shrinking a tiny bit, it wouldnt sit straight in the gate like polyester prints do and looked a little bit curly as it was travelling across rollers. It doesnt smell at all thankfully. I have been looking into making a gate that will provide slight pressure across the film plane against a fixed stop for shrunken prints.")

DTS Sonic Landscape flat aspect, full frame scan with not one but two groovy ATLAB countdowns in varying levels of print exposure for some reason. This was used at a cinema I worked at. I think the second countdown was just slug to make it back to the platter.")
