Wildfires may seem like a bigger worry for Western states like California, Arizona and Oregon, but the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management says there's a significant risk here too. DEM burn crews are targeting densely wooded areas in Exeter, West Greenwich, Coventry, Richmond, Glocester, Jamestown, South Kingstown and elsewhere, conducting so-called "prescribed burns." Ocean State Media's David Wright tagged along as DEM firefighters carefully set 25 acres of the Great Swamp in South Kingstown ablaze.
