From Feb. 24-26, 2026 ODFW in partnership with @idahofishgame, @thewdfw, Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation, Nez Perce Tribe and the Wild Sheep Foundation, captured tested, and collared Rocky Mountain Bighorn sheep in the Grande Ronde and Wenaha River areas near Troy, Oregon. This marks the first time in the 30-year Tri-State Hells Canyon Bighorn Sheep Recovery Initiative that all the partners have worked together in the field on the same project. Special thanks to the @WildSheepFoundation (national and the Oregon Chapter) and Sitka Gear for volunteer and financial support.
