We tested the pH of seawater at surface and depth. After adding CO2 , we tested again and compared the buffering capacity of fresh water and sea water. Our labs will continue as we explore how hydrogen ions from CO2 absorption in ocean water are impacting the ability of marine organisms to acquire essential ions for making shells and calyx.
