Field Report Remote ID in France
Remote identification, or remote ID, will be required of all recreational RC pilots after March 16, 2024. The only two exceptions are models that weigh less than 250 grams and flight within a FRIA (FAA Recognized Identification Area). FRIAs are typically located at your AMA club flying field.
Drones are not delivered with Standard remote ID installed at the factory. All fixed wing RC models, whether an ARF or something you have built yourself will require a separate remote ID module.
In this video I discuss an interesting field report from an RC modeler in France who is currently flying with a remote ID module.
