I had to. C'mon. Don't look at me like that. Unless you really want to I guess. As soon as I saw the link to Deltarune, I downloaded it and played in immediately. All that excitement and emotion from 3 years ago came right back. Undertale was a genuinely fun game and the story, soundtrack, lore, and (especially) the music were all fantastic. I have a huge soft spot for Toby Fox's tracks and it really has influenced and motivated me to continue doing what I do. Deltarune does the same. And by taking apart this track (Field of Hopes and Dreams is amazing btw), I feel like I was able to learn a little more in terms of technique for my ownn work. Can't wait to see where this all goes. Video Game Battle Themes. What can I say about these....lads? They help set the mood for a proper beat down. Most of the time, you have something upbeat and energetic to give you that much needed energy. Sometimes, you have absolute chaotic noises as a battle theme. Other times, you have a slow melodic theme to help set the mood for the atmosphere and aesthetic for the story, setting and characters. This Video Game battle theme (Tabula Rasa) was always meant to fit within the latter description. There is some intensity there to signify a conflict, but the overall mood is meant to be chill and slightly depressing in nature (not necessarily *sad* though). I didnt have any time to work on a full video for this week, so I figured Id throw together a rock version of one of my favorite songs Ive written. So here is a rock version of Tabula Rasa, an original Video Game Battle Theme. I hope you enjoy!

You know what kind of melodies are cool and memorable? The ones that make me wanna buy Chicken Nuggets. Also video game melodies. Move it to a rock scenario, and youre looking at some kind of intense anime scene. Video game has kind of been a main influence since I started this whole thing. Honestly, its pretty much the entire reason I started doing music in general. I definitely have a lot to thank video games for. Contrary to popular belief, I dont actually watch a lot of anime. But the ones I HAVE watched have been a big influence on me as well! This song was a proper culmination of those styles (as well as my dumb groove styles I use for my rock/metal tunes) and one of the first songs that sparked the whole New Favorites wave.
