Understanding and measuring the environmental impacts of sustainable pavement practices have been key objectives of the FHWA Sustainable Pavements Program since its inception in 2011. Now these efforts are receiving a major boost with two new programs: the FHWA Climate Challenge and the Every Day Counts “EPDs for Sustainable Project Delivery” initiative.

![Cooperative Perception Scenario 2 – Pedestrian Crossing
This video demonstrates Cooperative Perception Scenario 2 testing conducted at Turner-Fairbank Highway Research center. This scenario characterizes how a cooperative automated driving system (C-ADS) receives and interprets cooperative perception data when a pedestrian is crossing the road in front of the vehicle and the pedestrian is initially obstructed from the C-ADS.
