I played the original Final Fantasy XIV 1.0, disappeared for years, and now the 1.0 VET RETURNS series has finally reached Shadowbringers.
Today, I’m starting the Shadowbringers Main Scenario Quest and continuing the long journey through years of FFXIV content. The goal is still the same: catch up before Final Fantasy XIV: Evercold arrives in January 2027.
This is a mostly blind first playthrough, so expect story reactions, Dark Knight gameplay, questionable decisions, rusty lore knowledge, and plenty of discussion about how FFXIV has changed since the original 1.0 era.
