I played the original Final Fantasy XIV 1.0, but I have a lot of catching up to do.
Today, I’m returning to FFXIV and continuing the Stormblood Main Scenario Quest as I begin the long journey through years of expansions, dungeons, trials, and story content. The goal is to catch up before Final Fantasy XIV: Evercold arrives in January 2027.
Expect a mostly blind returning-player playthrough, story reactions, questionable memories, rusty combat, MSQ progression, and plenty of discussion about how FFXIV has changed since the original 1.0 era.
