Thanks to those able to test this out! Looks like this has been confirmed as making no difference. Tested on the following mixed hardware:

Intel HD Graphics 4600 for Power Savings.
NVIDIA GeForce 840m for High Performance.

Surface Book 1 (Nvidia)

In this video, I will show you how to specify which GPU takes priority by using a feature new to Windows 10 (Update 1803). This may help some people on laptops with switchable graphics, or it may do nothing at all. In any case, it's worth a shot for those having performance issues in Final Fantasy XI.
