Cid finally gets to fight and the reason why I've been saving him for the toughest battles is because of his HP. Not only is it the highest out of all the characters, but it's much higher than the characters I had left after I used up all of Cloud, Barret and Red's turns. You really need it here, since it's one of the most dangerous battles in the game.
Most of the battle is just setup. You need to go in with the Protect Ring, otherwise you might not even survive the first turn. The Ziedrich is also absolutely mandatory, as it'll cut the damage of all the attacks except Turk Light in half. The first thing you want to do it slow them down, then start buffing yourself up with Hero Drinks. It's very convenient that the W-Item Materia is found just before this battle, otherwise it would be next to impossible. Poisoning Reno isn't necessary, as poison damage will be very slow, but it might save you one attack later. Once all the preparations are done, your barriers are about to run out, so you gotta put up new ones before you start attacking. Start with MBarrier, since the magical attacks are the most dangerous.
Once that's done, you can start attacking Reno. Just hope you don't see too many misses, because you need that HP recovery from the HP Absorb combo. You can survive two rounds of their attacks at this point, but it's not a guarantee, and if you have to start using extra turns to heal, you risk running out your barriers again. The only downside to using Cid is that his MP is kinda low, so I couldn't get enough to use anything more powerful than a regular level 3 spell.

This battle is why I had to steal the Ziedrich in all three battles with Rude. You cant survive Beam Cannon without it. I tried a setup where Cloud had the Gigas Armlet and Cursed Ring for more damage, but once he got killed, the others simply couldnt finish the battle. You can easily survive his attacks and stay alive with Magic Counter=Restore, but then theres Materia Jammer. It gives you Reflect, meaning you wont be able to heal for four turns. Depending on when its used, you might not survive Beam Cannon. If Cloud gets it, you can pretty much just restart. So yeah, this was surprisingly annoying and ended up requiring more attempts than the Turks.
