$Rapunzel & Eugene - I Need to Know (for @BarbieLovers 💕) Hi all! This is the first time Ive done a crossover with Tangled and Barbie, and I thought it a perfect video to dedicate to one of my awesome subscribers (or I should say two of ^^), who go by Barbie Lovers! I also happen to really love the Barbie movies, they were practically my whole childhood growing up, and they hold a very special place in my heart :3 So Im really glad to be able to do a video melding two of my favorite things! $Rapunzel & Gothel 💔 Nothing Breaks Like a Heart Sorry yall! I decided to change some things. I had forgotten how I really liked this song! I also realized Ive never really done a video about Rapunzel and Gothels relationship other than in my Meaning of Love video: https://youtu.be/09HfCkQ3fIQ And even then its more so about Rapunzel and Eugene. So this ones a bit different from my normal Tangled content. I thought it would be a cool video to do for this song to show the complexity of their relationship, and delving into how Rapunzel must have felt when she realized the woman she lived her entire life thinking was her mother turned out not to be. In the series, we get to see the aftermath of this, for example when she has nightmares about Gothel and has to confront that trauma. I thought that was so important and realistic because something like what Rapunzel went through doesnt just go away when she reunites with her real parents...it was, in fact, a trauma. The scenes where Gothel tells Rapunzel I love you for sure has to be super confusing for kids at times, because she isnt your stereotypical villain. Despite being the epitome of greed and narcissism, people are still left wondering if Gothel does love Rapunzel in her own demented way. I say an emphatic NO. Thats proven by how the only affection Gothel shows to Rapunzel throughout the entire movie is directed at her hair. Of course Rapunzel did always love Gothel as her mother though, and I think thats why when Gothel died, she probably had so many conflicting emotions that she didnt even have time to process because Eugene was dying. You can see it in her face. But in the series, specifically A Tale of Two Sisters, we see Rapunzel admit that Gothel never really loved her. She always just loved what she could give her. Just thought Id share my thinking behind the part at 0:42 with the line this broken record...I picked that scene where Gothel is using Rapunzels hair to stay young because this moment with Rapunzel singing the Healing Incantation has probably happened countless times, hence connecting it with the saying broken record. Just a little explanation xD P.S.S. I also gotta mention I really enjoyed adding in the rain and thunder/lightning at 0:34! I didnt even tell you guys about this collab, but...surprise!! ☺ I am so beyond honored to have been able to work on this with the legendary, theNightFuryFan95. She is someone I look up to as both an editor and as a person. Her skills and her faith both inspire me immensely, and this collab happening is like a dream come true! And the fact that the whole process of creating this with her was so seamless and easy, just proves it was meant to be~ Also I cant forget to mention that Fury also hosted this collab! As well as creating her gorgeous parts, she also did amazingly putting everything together! 💕 Even though this video was so so fun to make, it was even more than that...This video means a lot to me on a deeply personal level because of trials that I went through at the beginning of this year, and even last year. I dont want to get into details, but suffice to say it was the most challenging time in my life. I made it through the other side by the grace of God, and this song is like my anthem for this year. I got quite emotional watching it after Fury showed me the completed video, and I probably always will. Its even more special to have made this with her, as opposed to just on my own, and I am so grateful to her for asking to do this with me 😊 I hope this video serves as a reminder to everyone who sees it, that no matter how dark a time in your life may seem, there is always light waiting on the other side...and God is there to help you through. $Go (Tangled: The Series Tribute) When I first heard this song, it was mainly season 2 that I knew this video would be themed around, because the lyrics fit that season especially well...But at the end of it I realized that it also made a great overall tribute for the series as a whole. Honestly I could make endless tributes to this show, its just that great xD ALSO huge shoutout to @mrsducky, cause without her I dont think Id ever have found this song!
