Federal govt. sells retired RCAF aircraft for use in firefighting efforts – August 7, 2026 @cpac

At a news conference in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Secretary of State (Defence Procurement) Stephen Fuhr announces the conditional sale of 10 retired Royal Canadian Air Force CC-130H Hercules aircraft to Coulson Aviation. The company intends to convert the aircraft for aerial firefighting to strengthen private-sector wildfire response capacity.

He is joined by Liberal MPs Zoe Royer and Carlos Leitão, Ravi Parmar (British Columbia’s minister of forests) and Wayne Coulson (CEO, Coulson Aviation).
