These tiny gliding possums are not rare, but seldom seen, because the are small and fast and spend most of their time high up in the trees.
Here they are feeding on the sap exuding from cuts in the bark of red mahogany trees (Eucalyptus resinifera). The cuts were made by another species of gliders, the much larger Yellow-bellied Gliders.
