Josh Robinson competed in the Formula Drift 2017 Pro2 season and finished 4th overall. His tire slayer of choice is his Holden VF Ute, which is sort of like a V8 Camaro with a neat mini-truck body style. The Ute isn't available to buy in America, but it's a really unique, long-wheelbase platform.
Josh is running an LS3-based supercharged V8 setup, the front steering angle parts are all basically one-off fabrications, and the entire body is carbon fiber. Check out the slick 1-piece bumper with integrated headlights at 03:30. Aside from the CF body and front steering parts, the usual performance-adders for this level of competition and vehicle prep are all present, giving the Ute a rowdy 1,000 horsepower and clean handling to carve tire tracks into Texas Motor Speedway!
I've had the opportunity to hang with Josh at a couple of Lone Star Drift events this year, and he's a really nice guy, very down to earth and (fun fact) one of the tallest people I've ever met, haha. I've also seen him rip up the Ebisu circuit complex at 2016 Autumn Drift Matsuri, though at the time we hadn't met.
Quick shoutout to Aaron Losey, the organizer for Lone Star Drift, he's doing awesome things and I'm looking forward to seeing where his future projects take both him and the sport. Hit me up if I can collaborate with you on a project, Aaron, let's go to Japan together! ;)

I shot this footage over two separate events at Texas Motor Speedway (TMS), so you may notice some weather changes while scoping out the Ute in the pits. TMS is traditionally associated with NASCAR racing for it's 1.5 mile banked oval track which generates speeds upwards of 150mph, but in the infield there's a pretty sweet road course as well. The road course is 40 feet wide with 15 turns total, the Lone Star layout uses about 3 of them but Josh links every turn but the final one (where the starting line is) in these shots!
