Texas prairies are disappearing faster than most people realize, with less than one percent of the original native prairie remaining. Through bird walks, hands-on restoration, and landowner education, the Native Prairies Association of Texas Fayette Chapter is helping people slow down, experience these landscapes firsthand, and understand why they matter. Working alongside Texas Parks and Wildlife, they are restoring habitat, reconnecting fragmented prairie, and helping preserve an important part of Texas’s natural and cultural heritage for future generations.
