Pete Walker’s work is anecdotal, not supported by any studies, panders to victimhood, and aligned with many discredited ideas such as the polyvagal theory. Example: emotional flashback which misconstrues both emotions and flashbacks.
The fawn response is not currently a formal diagnosis in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5) or the ICD-11.
