Faure Island Wildlife Sanctuary protects over 4,500 hectares in the Shark Bay World Heritage Area and serves as a feral-free safe haven for some of Australia’s most threatened mammals.

The island’s coastal cliffs, mangrove lagoons and mudflats provide critical habitat for wildlife, from reintroduced mammals like the Boodie (Burrowing Bettong) and Banded Hare-wallaby to internationally significant populations of migratory shorebirds.
