Duck King comes from the original Fatal Fury. He’s been making appearances throughout that series and King of Fighters in sparing fashion since the beginning, but he always brings a spice of style and flair to the fight with his hip-hop, breakdancing, and street dance-centered martial arts. He’s a strange bird to say the least. He doesn’t have a projectile, and his high-energy movement and outlandish attack style can cause the player to drop combos, but even with those cons, Duck King is fast, hits from weird angles, and has some funny ways to avoid danger and reply with punishment.
The biggest gimmick to Duck King this time around is his Hype State. By raising Duck King’s REV Meter, he gets stronger and gains follow-ups to a lot of his moves that let him extend his combos without building more REV. Some of his command normals and nearly all of his specials get something good out of his Hype State being active. It builds up at 20 to 50 percent and gets strongest post 50, and he dances more bombastically as you get there as a fun touch.
