You know, if theres one video game developer which is practically defined by racing games, then its Codemasters without a doubt. After all, they not only created the TOCA Race Driver series (which lasted from 1997 to 2007 and actually made its debut several months before the Gran Turismo franchise did), but also developed the Grid series (which began in 2008 and, as of this writing, had its latest entry come out in 2022). Speaking of the Grid series, the game shown here (which is called GRID Autosport) aimed to go back to basics in terms of pure racing after the confusion that was Grid 2. So yeah, Forza Motorsport this clearly isnt.
For my GRID Autosport playlist, I took three road-legal cars (all of which are right-hand-drive, of course) around the Mount Panorama Circuit (AKA the most iconic Australian racetrack as far as I know). Out of those three, the E92 iteration of the BMW M3 (shown here) is the fastest. Speaking of which, theres a reason why this particular version of the BMW M3 (which to this day is the only production M3 to be powered by a V8 engine, assuming that the street-legal version of the E46 M3 GTR doesnt count) is still iconic even after all these years. Between its naturally aspirated 4.0 L V8 engine and its 6-speed manual transmission, this quintessential sports car would be the last BMW coupe to carry the M3 moniker (as subsequent iterations of this legendary sports coupe would be produced under the name BMW M4).
According to the Internet Game Cars Database (IGCD for short), the BMW M3 E92 shown here is from 2007. Whats more, according to RedBook, AKA the go-to website for research into vehicles sold in Australia, the base version of the BMW M3 E92 was officially sold in Australia from 2007 to 2013. Three different GOKUs, three different eras.
Now that Super Saiyan 4 Goku from Dragon Ball DAIMA is here, its time for me to get back into Dragon Ball FighterZ once more. (And yes, thats yet another Goku variant to add to a game which already has a multitude of Goku variants to choose from. Also, since Dragon Ball DAIMA canonically takes place between the end of Dragon Ball Z and the start of Dragon Ball Super, one can say that Super Saiyan 4 is finally made canon.) In all honesty, Im still getting used to all of the new mechanics (such as super move and super dash cancels) which I clearly missed out on a long time ago, so... Yeah. That said, I cant believe it took me until now to realize that the teams frontline fighter can be swapped around before a match by holding down one of the two Assist buttons during the versus screen.
Alright, lets see how far I can go with this Goku-only team. (Also, maybe its just me, but for some reason, I wasnt the biggest fan of Son Goku for the longest time. However, starting from this game, Ive gradually grown to appreciate this food-loving fighter to the extent that I now respect him immensely as one of the prototypical anime/manga protagonists of all time.) By the way, given that the characters lip flaps in this 3v3 fighting game from 2018 dont sync with the English voice lines on occasion, its clear that this title was made with Japanese voices in mind.

In all honesty, Yasmine initially didnt strike me as the kind of character who Id consider playing as. (Then again, Im pretty sure Ive said the same thing for certain other DLC characters in this game.) However, after trying her out for a bit, I can safely say that I like her overall (especially since shes the first Filipino Street Fighter character in series history).
So yeah, it turns out that trying to complete all ten of every single characters online rank placement matches isnt an easy affair (especially since I find some characters to be harder to use as opposed to certain other characters).
