The Families are Stronger Together Learning Community (FAST-LC) Capstone Convening was held in Bethesda, MD, on August 20-21, 2024. The intent of the FAST-LC was to promote prevention partnerships between TANF and child welfare and mitigate families’ involvement in the child welfare system. The Capstone Convening brought teams from all the participating sites together to discuss their experiences and learn from one another.
The event began with an opening from Ms. Lisa Washington-Thomas who then introduced the keynote speaker, Ms. Brenda Donald. Ms. Donald delivered an inspiring message about the challenging and critical work the site teams have undertaken, affirmed the potential impact of prevention work on families and communities, and encouraged the site teams in their continuing efforts beyond the FAST-LC initiative.
