This piano improvisation is dedicated to a very special person of me: D.H.
He was one of the oldest friends I had. I think I got to know him when I was still in Kindergarten, and later, we both visited the same school.
We used to play nintendo together in my home and we had many similar interests, like pokemon or playing "the sims". I have many fond memories of him.
He could live a normal live like any other pupil but when he was 15, he was diagnosed with Leukemia. His life turned upside down ever since then: he had to take a long break in the school and he had undergone dozens of painful chemotherapies
The last time I saw him was 2 years ago, in the class reunion party. He appeared very weak, his hand was shaking the whole time and he lost all his hair. But still, he still remained the old fun-loving guy, who never lost his humour. He never lamented once he was unfortunate and he never gave you the feeling he was disadvantaged. It was always fun talking with him, because he was a really honest person, who cared deeply about other people.
And he said something to me that made me really happy: "I am glad, that you became a musician after all". He know that I loved the piano and he always believed in me, that I would succeed one day as a great musician. I even promised him to invite him to a concert of mine in the future.
But in the end, he lost the battle against his Leukemia. Yesterday, I found out on facebook, that he has passed away with 22 years.
Therefore I want to dedicate this piano improvisation to him. "Faraway" is an absolutely incredible and emotional piece by Jun Maeda and I think, this is a very fitting song to give D.H. a decend send-off.
Rest in piece my old friend.
One day we will meet again.

In a way, The Everlasting Guilty Crown symbolizes the end of a long journey because it’s going to be my last piano arrangement for the Guilty Crown Anime series. I personally regard my Guilty Crown piano arrangements as my favorite works, because they are all written in the so called “special-type” arrangement style - piano pieces with a highly individual character.
It’s not surprising that most of these songs are composed by ryo (supercell) because I really admire his ability to compose these brilliant melody lines, which is always touching the deepest part of my soul. Arranging The Everlasting Guilty Crown was probably one of the biggest challenges I was facing this year because I wanted to surpass my former self again and take the meaning of “Anime piano arrangement” to the next level.
One of the most distinct characteristic of the original song is the piano ostinato (a rhythmic pattern, that is repeating the whole time in the background), which is being introduced in the beginning of the song. For this arrangement, the piano ostinato is only vaguely hinted in the left hand at 00:28 and it also appears in the right hand in 00:59. It only starts to develop during the intermission in 01:43 until it finally reaches its full bloom in the second verse in 02:08. This is the moment where The Everlasting Guilty Crown is really starting.
From this point on, I was trying my best to carry the spirit of the original song through the second half of this piano arrangement. But the turning point of the entire piece is the calm before the storm in 04:38. In this short moment, I was reflecting all the past arrangements I have created, all the struggles I had to go through in order to continue and my constant obsession with perfectionism. So I utilized everything I could think of to make the final chorus count, be it three hand technique, fast right hand runs, or multiple voicing.
The original piece has an unexpected “open end” in E-major chord and the unfinished chord progression is yearning for a musical conclusion. I wanted to give this arrangement a grandiose orchestral finale and as a result I used a B major key for the first time. The piano ostinato is being played again in fortissimo and the piece ends with four B major chords to give the final chapter of Guilty Crown a fitting ending.
Well then. Thank you for reading my story behind the creation of this arrangement. The Guilty Crown piano pieces I have arranged so far have influenced my arranging career like none other and with each of them, I was discovering a new path and it has helped me to develop my arrangement style substantially.

U R MY SPECIAL.
This is my piano arrangement of SPECIALZ by King Gnu, the 2nd OP of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2. It’s not an exaggeration to say that the Shibuya Incident Arc was really peak anime in 2023 – and I absolutely enjoyed the crazy ride.
SPECIALZ is a very dark piece and the aggressive hammering beat is essentially creating an atmosphere of a “death march” for all the characters in Jujutsu Kaisen. I tried my best to translate the “hammering” of the original song as good as possible on the piano, but I also added a few additional melody layers in 0:35, 1:56 and 2:28 to contrast the peaceful side of the music.
① Iguchi-san vs Tsuneta-san (the two vocalists of King Gnu)
I decided to use different voice ranges for the main melody because each range has a different voice characteristic. The voice of Iguchi-san has been assigned to the higher range (0:50) while Tsuneta-san is covering the lower range (0:54). I kept the voice splitting fairly consistent for both the verse and the chorus to create a duet between these voices on the piano. It’s also more interesting to play too.
② Cursed by a Hammer
If you have watched the Music Video of SPECIALZ you’d probably notice many scenes featuring people doing a hammering motion in a monotone rhythm. I tried to do the same for the piano and the constant left hand jumping in the verse (0:19) and in the chorus (0:50) is basically mirroring the hammering beats of the music. There are also a few times, where I have to use unusual hand splitting to continue the hammering beats such as in 2:36.
③ The mystery bass
When arranging this piece, I was not sure if the chord progression in 1:48 is D7–A7–D7 or D7-F#m-E . But I decided to keep the A7 chord for this arrangement after all because it’s more similar to the chord progressions in classical music.
I also did a “Shibuya Crossing” (aka Hand Crossing) on the piano in 0:35 and 2:36. And after the Shibuya incident, not only Shibuya but whole Tokyo is in a great danger now. I really hope that MAPPA will start producing Season 3 soon!

Here is my piano arrangement of Miiro, the energetic opening song of Kantai Collection I used to like the ED song Fubuki more, but recently I cant stop looping Miiro whenever I am playing the Kancolle browser game.
The song is just so powerful and AKINOs passionate voice is simply amazing. Thats why this piano cover is designed rather straight-forward, very true to the original song with a very powerful left hand bass. This arrangement is basically 100% raw power and piano guitar-riffs.
*sighs* I think am wasting way too much time on the Kancolle Browser game and theres no end in sight. Every day the same procedure, leveling up your shipgirls, farming more repair buckets. I love and hate the game at the same time.
Anyway, this makes the third Kancolle upload in a row, so you have a rough imagination how much Kancolle has influenced me recently. I also cant stop buying Kancolle figures and any kind of Kancolle merchandise, the rabbit hole goes very very deep now...
On the other hand, the spring anime season 2015 is really good, I am following more than 10 shows currently and they all have huge potential. My favorite series is currently OregaIru Season 2. Ill upload again, as soon as the full OP/ED singles has been released!

Fireworks (2017) is one of those Anime Movies, where you can only remember the brilliant Theme Song「Uchiage Hanabi」 while the story was completely forgotten already. Actually, once you have seen the official Music Video from DAOKO X Yonezu Kenshi, you have pretty much seen the entire movie.
Nevertheless, 「Uchiage Hanabi」 is simply a completely amazing song because even after 4 years, I still think it sounds fresh and original. Is it the rhythmic energy in the chorus? Or is it the piano melody in the intro? Or maybe the final chorus with the la-la-la chant at the end? Either way, I lost count how many times I have listened to「Uchiage Hanabi」and it is truly the embodiment of a perfect summer song.
My main goal for this piano arrangement was to preserve the rhythmic energy of the original song and that’s why I used so many staccato and syncopations in the left hand: in the first verse 0:42, in the second verse 1:51 and also in all three chorus sections. I paid special attention to careful pedaling this time to accentuate the rhythms as much as possible.
The most difficult part of this entire arrangement is by far the bridge part in 2:37, because you have to balance all the voices to avoid a messy sound and the right hand has to jump very quickly to play these bass notes on the first beat. This is actually a great example, where you can the “three-hand technique” in all its glory. Did you also know that the term “three-hand technique” has even its own Wikipedia article? (Just look it up!)
I even used the “three-hand technique” in the final chorus in 3:27 and the colorful ornaments in the right hand is representing the beautiful glittering from the launched fireworks (while the left hand is playing the main melody). And as a grand finale, I also included a “children choir” part in 4:06 to make the la-la-la chant even more “summer-like.”
Last but not least, I tried to create an extended echo effect in 4:25 by holding down the final Gb note with the pinky finger in the right hand. If you listen carefully, you can still hear the Gb note faintly in the background while the piano melody is playing. Who needs a synthesizer if you can do even reverb effects with your fingers only (笑)

Here is my piano cover of aLIEz, the second ending song of Aldnoah.Zero, which aired in summer 2014. It is the spiritual successor of my Bios (Guilty Crown OST) arrangement I did years ago, because it features a lot of big left hand jumps and its from the same composer: Hiroyuki Sawano.
The very first thing I noticed while listening to aLIEz is the ever-present drum set, constantly playing an off-beat rhythm throughout the entire piece. I tried to replicate it in the left hand by playing a pulsating rhythm which is completely independent of the right hand. This whole piece is essentially a rhythm etude to train the coordination of both of your hands: Multiple layers of different rhythms are played at the same time in certain passages.
Similar to my previous piano arrangements of Hiroyuki Sawanos compositions you can go ALL out with the volume this time. Especially the section starting at 2:53 should be played in the most convincing forte fortissimo ever, the whole piano should be shaking at this point, and every listener should trembling with awe.

This upload is a very special upload, because its dedicated to a very special person.
Because yesterday, after I watched episode 4 of Gochuumon wa Usagi desu ka?it finally happened:
I found mai true waifu. And her names Kirima Sharo.
After years of searching, years of waiting, I finally found my one and only. And this piece is dedicated to her.
This soundtrack appears at the end of episode 1, 4 and 5, and its one of my favorite soundtracks of Gochiusa.
If you enjoyed Non Non Biyori, or if you are fan of slice of life series and enjoy watching cute girls doing cute things, then you should really give Gochuumon wa Usagi desu ka? a chance. The animation is top-tier and all the characters are insanely cute, plus it has a great soundtrack.
Btw, this transcription was done in only 2 hours, because I was totally mesmerized by Sharo (lol) and my inspiration has reached new heights. Plus, the piece is pretty easy to play. (I just kept the first take of my recording, and I was pretty satisfied)

After the huge hit “Your name” and “Weathering with You”, I was really looking forward to watching the newest movie by Makoto Shinkai. And I have to say, “Suzume no Tojimari” has really exceeded all my expectations and has quickly become my favorite anime movie from the last few years.
The message of the movie is really strong: Telling people to not lose hope for their future, even after experiencing a great disaster. I was also really surprised that the movie is directly referencing the 3.11 earthquake in Japan.
Since I was so impressed by the movie, I decided to make a piano medley and used four music pieces from the official Suzume no Tojimari soundtrack.
① Suzume Main theme 0:00
Its easily the most memorable melody of the movie: A simple theme in D-minor, initially played by the right hand alone. Throughout the movie, this theme has reappeared many times in different variations. I also wanted to include the deep breath of the vocalist from the original song as well. If you look closely at my right hand in 0:01 you can see that I deliberately raised my hands to recreate the deep breath.
② Sky Over Tokyo
Its another memorable scene in the movie. This particular soundtrack is playing when the giant Mimizu is about to cause a great earthquake in Tokyo. The musical buildup is very long and I added more and more layers (including the powerful drums in 3:22) until the music suddenly comes to a stop in 4:20. I tried my best to express a feeling of both beauty and despair on the piano.
③ Closing the Door
Its a variation of the Main theme and its being played near the end of the movie, in my favorite scene: Suzume finally went through the door and realized that little girl is actually her younger self from the past. She encouraged her past self to stay strong, even after all hope is seemingly lost after the earthquake. I still remember the final conversation between Suzume and younger Suzume:
“Big sister, who are you?”
– “I am your tomorrow”
I really, really love this scene, it was just so well made.
④ KANATA HALUKA 6:50
Its the ending song of the movie and serves as the grand finale of the medley. This is also the only piece in a major key and I added an additional finale with fast runs to celebrate the end of Suzume’s Journey. Finally, at the very end I played the main theme again but this time in a major key: A proof that all things will end well, if you give it enough time.

I am already looking forward to watching the next Makoto Shinkai movie - and I cant wait to see what kind of story we will experience next. Until now we have defeated a comet (Your Name), a weather anomaly (Weathering with you) and this time, a giant earthquake worm. Whats next, I wonder...

Ill take a break from transcribing now since a lot of stuff has happened. (read my facebook post).
This is one of the few Soundtrack piano covers Ive transcribed before the official release of the Soundtrack. Therefore, I added a lot of original part (including two variations of the main theme) in the sheet to extend the main theme.
I named the theme countryside in the transcription, since it doesnt have a official title yet.
The soundtrack is featured in the beginning of the very first episode of Non Non Biyori (the flute theme played by Renge), and its reoccuring quite frequently in the later episodes.
This is one of the most peaceful transcriptions Ive ever written and I hope youll enjoy this piece as much as I do.
Many thanks goes to Tehishter for recommending me Non Non Biyori, and Ludwig van Beethoven, because this transcription is heavily inspired by his Sonata No. 32, Op. 111, second movement.

My piano cover of unravel - the opening song of Tokyo Ghoul (2014). It was created while I was enrolled in a music conservatory in Germany and I was practicing many advanced classical pieces at that time. This might explain the extreme difficulty level of this piano arrangement, compared to my other arrangements. It is basically full with very risky jumps and super fast runs. Especially the particular guitar riff arpeggio at 02:21 is probably the fastest arpeggio I have ever attempted.
This piece is the most difficult piece I have ever arranged and I have put this song in my top 10 most difficult arrangements playlist on my channel as well:

I spend around 5 days to fully arrange this song but in order to fully play it, I needed to practice it very intensively for more than a week. This piece requires a high level of left hand and right hand coordination. There are many complicated rhythms in this piece and the only way to properly memorize them all is by repeatedly practicing it again and again in half speed.
Especially the intro melody in 00:35 is often called the wall, because of the sheet difficulty of that passage. There are huge jumps with both of your hands at the same time and you have to rely on your muscle memory in order to play it. It is indeed difficult to completely master this piece and I am seriously wondering myself, how I even managed to play this entire song in only one continuous take back then.
In hindsight, if I would arrange this song again, I would use my gained experience from the past five years to make it less frustrating to play, but without losing its musical quality. And I would definitely avoid using those cursed double hand jumps in 00:35.
Perhaps one day, I will make another crazy-level arrangement like this unravel again. But only time can tell whenever I am in the mood for it.
