Dr. Earndhart is one of the more tragic figures in Far Cry 3's universe. If you read his survival guide entry, it says he lost his young daughter in an accident when she fell out of a window. That's why he's got this weird attachment to Daisy- she reminds him of his lost little one. He moved to the island so he could get doped up as much as he wanted to dull the pain :(
