While celebrating our 1 year anniversary in the city we got married in, Charleston, SC, we paid another visit to a great brewery we went to on our prior visit. But this time, beers and a light lunch was not on our agenda. This time, I was facing off against their pizza challenge!
The Fam's Pizza Challenge allows challengers to select one of their specialty deep dish 14" pizzas. It's unclear if you're allowed to pick plain or 1-topping pizzas. When Randy Santel did his video, he said it had to be a specialty one, but my server said I was allowed to choose any deep dish pizza. In either case, this 14" pizza is so deep dish, it actually weighs in at about 6 lbs! Incredibly thick but incredibly tasty. If you can eat the entire pizza in one hour or less, you get the pizza for free and a t-shirt!
The staff was awesome, having fun and really getting into the challenge, rooting for me. The beer, I already knew was great here, and Gina's regular meal looked solid. The pizza was excellent, every bite. The crust wasn't too chewy or dry, just... a lot haha
