Catharine Burnett, General Burnett's daughter, married her second husband, Jack Bell, in Colorado and moved to Canon City, where she published a newspaper, the Canon City Cannon, with Jack. In 1908, she published her second book, "Hot Shots," the same year that John Philip Sousa wrote his march, "The Fairest of the Fair."
