There are those that believe that the rank of someone in the Melchizedek Priesthood corresponds to their ability to heal someone. For example I know someone who's daughter was extremely ill and the mother wanted her to have a blessing but didn't want it from the husband, or bishop, or stake president, but requested it from a member of the quorum of the 12 because she wanted the best change for her daughter to be healed.
