false horizon by lumpy (me)
while tinkering with something in the editor a week ago, I accidentally discovered this grainy stepped lighting effect. it's simple and versatile in execution, yet I'd never seen it done anywhere. Also, the red ringed circles I had accidentally made bore VERY strong resemblance to a digital drawing I did recently, and this is just generally an aesthetic that's been tumbling around my brain lately. so right there the fire was lit and I knew I had to do something quick to showcase this effect. A couple days later I went searching for songs and it took like two hours to find what I wanted but it paid off for sure, even the title is perfect! I've been working a lot since then to make this a complete package while making sure it didn't get too big for me to finish in the short term, and even though its nothing crazy, it always feels good to go from concept→product like this. I'm pretty proud of it and it seems like people are enjoying it so far, I hope you like it too :)
If you play it, I recommend turning your brightness up

![GD: 8 Unfinished Levels
These are 8 levels started in 1.9 that I most likely wont ever finish.
Theres a lot of stuff in here. Beware show more...
Unnamed Darnoc Level: My attempt at making a darnoc-styled level, probably most likely to be continued, I still think it looks good and plays well, it just needs some layering adjustment.

Clutterfunk Full: I wanted to try making an XL level, which I still havent done. Seemed like too much dedication unless I limited my building on purpose, which I chose to do by using only old styles. Still kinda fun to build but not worth continuing anymore.
Song: -Clutterfunk- by Waterflame | http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/505816
Speedbuild: I built this in 90 minutes. Yeah... with all the copy/paste, mediocre design, not worth it. Besides I used Bass Knight in a level recently and I dont want to use it again.
Song: Bass Knight by Boomkitty | http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/573454
Really hard Clubstep: I was never going to finish this anyway, I didnt want to verify and it was a super lazy build. But its still fun to modify original level copies.
Song: Club Step by dj-Nate | http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/396093
Unfinished Effect Level: I still like this one. It has unique blocks styles and visuals, and its overall nice. But I have a similar-looking level in the works and Id rather work on that than this (but District 11 takes priority right now).
Song: Leaving Leafwood Forest by Bossfight | http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/503265
Journey: Mediocre level, dont know why I started building it actually. I dont even like the song very much, and levels concept is kinda dumb.
Song: The 7th Day by TMM43 | http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/188804
Unnamed Happy Level: This is really good in some ways, really bad in others. This is the point where I started to try too hard making all my designs completely original, and the level suffered for it: everything after the beginning looks awful, especially the colors. However, at this point I started getting a lot better with gameplay. Still not great but this marks a point.
Song: Hydrant [139] by Esdeer | http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/605939
Sanicspeed: Yes, I was actually going to name it this. This one I was planning to continue even after 2.0 released actually, I had big plans to make lots of fun asymmetrical dual parts at 3x speed at the drop, which if you dont know are REALLY fun to build, and if done right, REALLY fun to play. But I got sick of the song.
