This place sucks. You can wear a HAZMAT Suit to avoid the radiation damage, but then the grenades will kill you. If you don't wear a HAZMAT Suit you take a ton of radiation damage from the gamma guns. I'd say armor is a better chose personally, but if you're good at dodging grenades and don't use VATS much, then a HAZMAT Suit may be the better choice. You'll want to hide from the radiation a lot and attack quickly from cover. Once all of the crazy Children of Atom are dead you'll be able to kill the glowing one they have in lighting the lighthouse.
