As summer winds down, many people are taking stock of where the season’s spending left them — from vacations and activities to back-to-school costs — and looking for ways to regain control before the holidays arrive.
The shift into fall can be a natural time to return to routine, take a closer look at household finances and reset a budget to rebuild some breathing room ahead of another busy spending season.
Derek Wing of Gesa Credit Union joined a conversation on ARC Seattle to share ways people can give their finances a fall reset, including how to evaluate spending after summer, where to begin when multiple priorities are competing for limited dollars, and how to set goals that are realistic enough to stick with.
The discussion also focused on steps people can take now to make holiday spending more manageable and keep finances on track through the end of the year.
