A hate comment actually helped prove the point I’ve been making about Fake Music Producers on YouTube.
I screen-recorded the MPC search results and asked a simple question:
WHERE IS THE ACTUAL MUSIC PRODUCTION?
Not thumbnails.
Not shocked faces.
Not endless gear talk.
Not beat reviews.
Not recycled content built around the newest device.
Where are the records?
Where are the artists?
Where are the studio sessions?
Where is the songwriting?
Where are the creative disagreements, breakthroughs, failures, revisions and excitement of actually FINISHING MUSIC?
Then somebody left a disrespectful comment — and when I looked deeper, the situation became more interesting.
This isn’t about exposing the individual. I’m intentionally not naming anybody.
It’s about the mentality.
How can somebody have legitimate experience around music, potentially have credits of their own, and STILL place another content creator above themselves simply because that creator reviewed their beat?
That is the conversation.
Social media has created an artificial hierarchy where visibility can become authority.
Get enough views.
Control enough search results.
Become the recognizable face of a product.
Build an audience.
Eventually people can start treating you like the gatekeeper of an entire culture — even when the actual musical output doesn’t justify that position.
And THAT is what I mean when I say people are becoming brainwashed.
A producer should be developing MUSIC — records, artists, ideas, arrangements, melodies, hooks and moments people actually remember.
Your value as a musician should never depend on whether an internet personality approves your beat.
WAKE UP.
This series isn't about telling anybody what equipment to buy or who they're allowed to watch. It's about questioning what modern producer culture has become and bringing the conversation back to MUSIC PRODUCTION.
