Fairview Peak, elev 8,561’, is easily recognizable along the front range area north of Boulder, CO. However it is rarely climbed due to lack of established trail. I reached the summit by starting from a pullout spot along Lefthand Canyon Drive, and bushwhacked my way up to the southeast ridge of this peak for the last 2 miles to summit. The offtrail adventure was super fun and the entire approach can be kept at class2. The best part is that I didn’t see another soul after the first mile. On the way back I decided to check out the other approach from CR 87J, which cuts through many private properties and one has to pay close attention in order to avoid trespassing. If anyone wants to try this peak, I’d suggest taking the SE ridge route as an out-n-back which stays clear of any private property issues. From Lefthand Canyon Drive to the summit is about 3.7 miles with 2800’ elevation gain
