Dubbed the King of Western Swing by the Country Music Hall of Fame, Bob Wills played radio stations and stages across the United States with the Texas Playboys throughout the 1930s and 1940s. Wills passed in 1975, but his hometown of Turkey has honored his legacy with Bob Wills Day since 1971. Western swing fans from around the world convene for a parade, fiddling contests, museum showcases, live bands, and dances. This 1995 documentary, for example, features an interview with a cowboy hat-wearing celebrant visiting from Belgium.
