Oswald’s music is characterised by its lyrical qualities, elegance, and radiance, which are prominently showcased in the 'Sinfonietta.' The expressive 'Elegia,' originally written for cello and piano, is dedicated to the memory of a friend. In contrast, the 'Symphony Op. 43' is considered Oswald’s finest orchestral work and one of the most significant pieces in Brazilian orchestral literature.
