Hello, superstars~!
Welcome to the first official round of FIGHTING 50'S SEASON 3! This is a competition based off of both season 1 of Produce 101, as well as SIXTEEN (the show Twice was formed from), Idol School, et cetera~!
In this round, each contestant submitted a preference order for the different songs available. Then, a randomizer was used to decide what order successful preliminary "auditioners" would choose their songs in.
In this round, there are two groups covering four different songs that were created in both Korean and Japanese by Korean pop groups. As you can see and hear, each group covers the same parts of the song, but only about half-ish of the original. Whichever group of the two has the most support (likes, comments, etc.--everything will be taken into account) will gain a popularity bonus. On top of that, the judges will pick their favorite of the two! This competition is focused much more on the judging panel, who are looking for singing ability, timing, and other elements used in covering.
In this competition, participants are encouraged to try Japanese and Korean. Each person chose a language (or both) that they would be actually judged on. If they chose both, they will be judged normally in any song. However, if someone chose Korean and ends up in a Japanese song or vice versa, that person will be less harshly judged on the language and given as much feedback from judges as possible to improve with that language.
Each team has until September 23rd to garner as much support as they can. 🙂 Only The points each person receives add up to their ranking and the ranking determines the order of which round 2 songs are chosen.
Of course, the points also accumulate throughout the competition and the person with the most points in the end... wins!
You may be asking? What do winners get out of this? Not really much of anything, outside of competing and hopefully making new friends or meeting new people!
