Crazy Train influenced Guitar Backing Track: F#m 80s Heavy Metal / Hard Rock up-tempo jam track for guitar (F# minor)
Up to this point I've been concentrating on common keys minor and major keys. I realized something earlier in the week it was probably time to do something in a less common (but still popular) key. This one is a straight forward enough track, a progression starting with F#5, working it's way down to the F#5 the octave below, but landing on the lower E5 the 4th time. It's based off a popular solo section to a very popular 80s track, which you may or may not recognize. :-) I've created the same rotation for this heavy metal backing track in G minor too, which I upload at some time in the near future.
The chord rotation is
F#5 - D5 (E5 passing chord)
C#5 - A5 (B5 passing chord)
F#5 (with E passing note, and then just E5 on the 4th time)
Use F# minor pentatonic (blues or full minor), but you can also play around with A major if you desire :)
Guitar was a USA Charvel So-Cal through a JCM800 MKII head, bass a Fender Jazzbass through an Ampeg SVT head.
