Commission earned funds the production of our upcoming audio documentary about play and fitness which features Shylla.
Shylla Duhaney came to obstacle course racing (ocr) at a relatively late age compared to other competitors. However, Shylla’s background in sports, and a determination to overcome her fears has made her one to watch in the sport. Shylla’s passion for ocr was sparked when she appeared on, and won the reality tv show ‘SAS: Who Dares Wins’ and later competed on ‘Ninja Warrior UK.’

CrossFits growth has been phenomenal and with that phenomenal growth it has naturally gained its critics.
Andrew Stemler owner of CrossFit London UK caught our attention because of his colourful history and equally colourful personality. But it was his teaching style that ran counter to the negatives often levelled at CrossFit that really peaked our interest.
His willingness to see things from a beginners perspective makes him a superb communicator, awesome teacher and great spokesperson for CrossFit.
Heres what he says about being healthy:
The problem is too many people go to a gym. Too many strong guys go to gyms and lift heavy weights. Too many flexible guys go to gyms and they do stretching. Too many fast guys go to running tracks and they run up and down.
What should happen is the fast guys need to go and do some stretching. The strong guys need to go and do some stretching. The stretchers need to sod off into the weights room and pick up some heavy weights as do the marathon runners. So heres this thing, everyone tries to get the edge by being a specialist when in fact to get healthy you need to be a generalist.

This is a snippet from our forthcoming interview with Steve Maxwell. Hes a real life nomad, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instructor and strength and conditioning expert.
As one of the first wave of Americans to be taught Jiu-Jitsu by the Gracie family the now 62 year young Steve has coached some of the best athletes in the world. He was also one of the original investors in the UFC, is good friends with a hero of ours UFC commentator Joe Rogan, and has been interviewed on his show The Joe Rogan Experience Podcast multiple times.
Recently we also had the pleasure of interviewing and working with the legend so keep an eye out for forthcoming videos available on http://maxwellsc.com, https://www.youtube.com/user/MaxwellStrengthCond and our full length interview with him on our channel.
Big thanks to Steve and much love to Teresa for her organisation!
Heres what he said in this snippet:
Theyre claiming now, that 68% of Americans are either now overweight or obese but 38% here in the UK, man. You dont want to following in Americas shadows.
A lot of people dont realise that the leading cause of death in modern civilised countries, is not cancer, heart disease or diabetes. Its falling. Right up there with traffic accidents and accidents in the home. Old people they get really stiff and they fear engaging the ground.
One of the major differences between young and old is your comfort in getting up and down off the floor. So a lot of times I like to do a lot of up and down type drills and so forth. Rolling drills, martial arts forward rolls, backward rolls, break falls and stuff. And you can start real easy to overcome your fear because there is a big fear factor.
And I like to stand up in base this is like how a baby stands up, its also what we teach in jiujitsu. It kinda keeps your martial arts skills up and then you start to progress to from your feet where you just come up, let the momentum take you and you can do it slow....
